Welcome to the website of Saint-Génis-des-Fontaines’ historical site located close to the Spanish border. Actively involved in promoting Catalan culture it offers numerous touristy activities. 

The Mayor’s message:

Although in these difficult and uncertain times, sending messages of happiness and success may seem a paradox, it is no doubt, beyond convention, a good way of manifesting our goodwill in moving forward. The City Council’s responsibility lies in gathering people towards collective journeying leading to improved community life.

Their actions are vital in establishing ties between citizens, allowing for solitude and indifference to become a thing of the past. It is also our daily actions and relationship to others which, beyond words, are determining factors and vector of our daily happiness. I therefore, sincerely wish to thank all of you for your manifold involvement in supporting our beautiful Commune.

The worldwide economic crisis obviously foretold of complicated situations and limited means, which as you have noticed are now part of our every day life. This reality should however not lead us to brooding, introversion nor inertia.  Quite the opposite: it should lead us to more goodwill, reactivity, energy, innovation and always more solidarity. We must be confident in our capacity in dealing with the challenges and working at the transformation and dynamism of our village.
